Physician Assistant
Contribute to clinical assessment and follow-up within an agreed medical team.
About the role
Support patient assessment, clinical management and continuity of care within the physician assistant scope recognised in your jurisdiction. Work under the supervision and collaborative arrangements required for your role; responsibilities will reflect your registration and local requirements.
What you’ll do
- Take histories and perform appropriate assessments within your authorised role.
- Develop and discuss care plans with the supervising or collaborating medical clinician as required.
- Support investigation review, follow-up and referral coordination within approved protocols.
- Undertake prescribing or investigation requests only where specifically authorised.
- Recognise red flags and promptly escalate uncertainty or deterioration.
- Maintain clear records and explain your role and care arrangements to patients.
What you’ll bring
- Recognised physician assistant qualification and registration or authorisation where required.
- Relevant patient-facing clinical experience within your professional scope.
- Understanding of the supervision, prescribing and diagnostic limits that apply to your practice.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and teamwork.
- Ability to document accurately and work safely in a digital service.
Helpful additional experience
- Experience in primary care, family medicine or long-term condition follow-up.
- Experience working remotely with a supervising medical team.
Working arrangements
