Provide supportive pregnancy and postnatal guidance and continuity of care.
About the role
Support people and families during pregnancy and the postnatal period through appropriate digital consultations, education and follow-up. Work alongside local maternity services and recognise concerns that require urgent or in-person assessment.
What you’ll do
- Provide antenatal and postnatal education and support within your professional scope.
- Assess concerns appropriate to remote consultation and explain when in-person care is needed.
- Support birth preparation, recovery, infant feeding and emotional wellbeing within your competence.
- Recognise maternal or newborn warning signs and escalate to appropriate maternity or emergency services.
- Coordinate with maternity teams and other professionals to support continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold respectful care, safeguarding and informed choice.
What you’ll bring
- Recognised midwifery qualification and current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Relevant antenatal and postnatal clinical experience.
- Confidence identifying and escalating maternal and newborn concerns.
- Sensitive communication and commitment to informed, culturally respectful care.
- Ability to document securely and practise within the limits of digital maternity support.
Helpful additional experience
- Experience in community midwifery, postnatal support or infant feeding.
- Experience providing remote education or follow-up.
Working arrangements
Medocta is preparing for launch and developing its multidisciplinary clinical services. Digital consultations and follow-up are central to our approach. The country of practice, remote or in-person requirements, hours, engagement type, start date and remuneration will be discussed during recruitment and confirmed before appointment.
