What “Medocta verified” means
The badge means Medocta has approved a professional account for the platform. It is our own review marker. It is not an endorsement from a regulator or a guarantee of treatment results.
How the review works
Information on file
Professionals provide their identity, professional details and evidence relevant to the care they want to offer. The documents requested depend on their role, location and services.
Registration and standing
Medocta reviews current registration and good standing for the relevant profession and country. Reviewers use official registers or direct authority confirmation where available, alongside the evidence on file. A published role or specialty also needs a current approval against Medocta's service rules.
Suitability and ongoing scope
Where appropriate for the role and permitted in that jurisdiction, Medocta reviews police clearance or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) evidence. Published roles depend on active credentials and approvals; expired or withdrawn approvals stop qualifying for display.
DOCUMENT REVIEW
What we may ask for
This is the range of evidence Medocta may request. It is not a claim that every document or background check applies to every professional.
For UK roles, the level of DBS check and whether a barred list check is allowed depend on the work involved and legal eligibility. In Ghana, a police clearance certificate may be requested where appropriate.
- Government identity document, such as a passport or national ID
- Professional registration certificate, current licence or practising certificate
- Qualification certificates and specialty or board certification, where relevant
- CV or professional history and references, where relevant
- Professional indemnity or malpractice insurance, where required
- Police clearance or criminal record evidence, including an eligible UK DBS check where appropriate
- Continuing professional development or revalidation evidence, where relevant
AFTER APPROVAL
Verification does not stop at onboarding
Medocta tracks recorded licence expiry, revalidation and other compliance dates. Upcoming renewals are flagged for follow-up, and updated evidence must be reviewed to keep the relevant care scope current.
Renewal tracking
We track the dates on professional credentials and review renewal evidence when a licence, registration or other required document is due.
Standing and concerns
We reassess standing and compliance when new evidence, a regulator update or a concern is brought to our attention. A restriction can lead to further review or removal from care delivery.
Published scope
The system checks that a role or specialty still has an active, reviewed credential and approval before showing it publicly. Expired or withdrawn approvals no longer qualify.
Monitoring uses recorded dates and review activity. The badge is not a continuous live feed from every regulator, so a change in status may be identified between checks.
EVIDENCE AND SOURCES
Where information comes from
Evidence may be uploaded by the professional, provided to our team, obtained directly from a regulator or received from a documented third party. Medocta records the source of documents placed on file. The source and checks used can differ between professionals.
Issuing body
A body shown under “Registration” is the issuer recorded against a reviewed credential. The full registration number is withheld from the public profile.
Good standing
We assess the registration status and any relevant restriction information available from the appropriate authority when reviewing eligibility. A named issuer alone is not proof of direct confirmation, and the badge is not a live, continuous register check.
Public and private information
Profiles show approved care scope and the recorded issuing body where available. We keep identity documents, evidence files, full registration numbers and internal review notes private.
OFFICIAL SOURCES
Authorities relevant to our checks
The right authority depends on the profession and country. These official sites let you learn about registration or check a register independently; the list is illustrative, not a claim that every authority was contacted for every profile.
